About this game
Vanillaware's remastered compilation pairing Muramasa: Rebirth with its Genroku Legends expansion, rebuilt in HD with new English voiceover. Six playable protagonists chase separate tales through a supernatural Genroku-era Japan in this 2D action RPG.
Story & setting
Genroku-era Japan, a land where restless spirits and supernatural forces run rampant. Six protagonists — among them a warrior possessed by the cursed Demon Blades, an avenger bound by loyalty, and a lover pursuing passion — each carry their own self-contained story, playable in any order.
Gameplay
Side-scrolling 2D sword combat where chained normal attacks flow into combos, extended by dashes, jumps and timed parries that can deflect ranged attacks. Single-button skills unleash powerful single strikes and wide-area attacks that weave into relentless combos, with character progression and sword refinement deepening each protagonist's distinct fighting style.
